About Capstone Vineyards
Linden, VA, stands as the premier wine grape region on the East Coast, nestled among the picturesque rolling hills of the Shenandoah. With its exceptional soils, climates, and growing conditions, it's the ideal location for cultivating wine grapes. Recognizing this potential, Capstone Vineyards was established in 2013. Our south-facing site, situated at an elevation of 1,000 to 1,500 feet, features primarily Meyersville and Catoctin series soils, characterized by weathered silica-based rock and sandy loam deposits. Currently, 12.5 acres are under vine, with plans to expand by another 10 acres in the coming years. Our varietals include Merlot, Chardonnay, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Chenin Blanc, Muscat Ottonel, Roussanne, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard's diverse soils, grades, and aspects allow us to produce both sparkling wines and concentrated reds. We embrace this unique terroir to craft bold red blends, elegant still whites, and a range of sparkling wines using both the Charmat and traditional Champagne methods.
