Production Notes
Both clones of Cab Franc were picked 10/4/24. After being chilled overnight the fruit was destemmed, sorted, and fermented in 1- ton bins for roughly 3.5 weeks. Gently pressed, settled over night and racked to French oak barrels, 27% new oak.
Winemaker Notes
2023 was a unique year. The weather cooperated with a good balance between day and night time temps and very little precipitation. Insect and mildew pressure were negligent. The fruit came in really clean, and ripe. These vintages require a degree of restraint in the cellar in order to not over extract. The reds are full of finesse and elegance. They are showing well now but have many years left until their prime.
