Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This wine presents an alluring bouquet of black peppercorns, followed by the deep, ripe sweetness of plum and the subtle, honeyed richness of persimmon. Together, these flavors create a harmonious balance of spice and fruit, evoking both warmth and complexity on the palate.

Production Notes
All 3 clones of Merlot were picked over a 2 day period towards the end of September. After being chilled overnight the fruit was destemmed, sorted, and fermented in 1- ton bins for roughly 3.5 weeks. Gently pressed, settled over night and racked to French oak barrels, 20% new oak.
Winemaker Notes
2023 was a unique year. The weather cooperated with a good balance between day and night time temps and very little precipitation. Insect and mildew pressure were negligent. The fruit came in really clean, and ripe. These vintages require a degree of restraint in the cellar in order to not over extract. The reds are full of finesse and elegance. They are showing well now but have many years left until their prime. 250 cases bottled.
